| The Higlow 1000W luminaire is used at mounting heights from around
20m and up usually using 1000 Watt Mercury Vapour, Metal Halide or High Pressure Sodium lamp (also 400 Watts if
required). The all Australian construction of the WADCO Higlow means that the design has taken into account the special climatic consideration encountered in our tropical north as well as arduous industrial interior. The Higlow accomodates ballasts for all light sources and is rated 50o and 55o Centigrade ambients in a remote gear version. The Luminaire is eminently suitable for use in foundries, chemicals and rubber manufacture, cement and aluminium production. It has been used in Jumbo aircraft hangars lighting and the largest steel mills. The sealed luminiare complies with the requirements of IP65. An S/S version is available. The Higlow 400 and 1000 Control Gear enclosure can be mounted separately from the optical assembly and is replaced by a small casting containing a terminal block. This reduces the overall heights of the luminiare for low profile situations. It also allows the luminiare to be used in higher ambient temperature locations which may be encountered in tropical and hot industrial applications. A generously designed control gear enclosure box allows an Intergral ambient limit at a high 55oC and higher when gear is remote. |

| It incorporated an armour plate tempered glass visor contained in a stainless steel rim band secured by stainless steel catches to the reflector and fitted with a safety chain for relamping. The lampholder position is adjustable to cater for different types and sizes of lamps and to vary flux distribution. The reflector has a thermal band to minimise lamp relections back through the arc tube of the lamp (which would have the effect of raising its temperature and reducting its life and output.) |
